According to Screamscape and Reuters, however, as an alternate plan Sea World is also exploring interest from two potential buyers: Six Flags and Apollo Global Management LLC (the group that tried to buy Cedar Fair back in 2009-2010).
Six Flags buying Sea World. What could possibly go wrong?

My vote is for the IPO. I sure hope Six Flags does not buy Sea World, based on what we saw with the former Sea World Ohio when Six Flags bought it back in 2001. I know Six Flags is under different management now, but I have no faith that they could do much better with Sea World (or Busch Gardens) now than they did with Sea World Ohio -- the buildings and most of the animals were still there in 2001-2003, but the Sea World feel was gone. They had lofty plans that may have worked, but pulled out without following through.
